International Forum: Global Issues
Objective: at the end of this project, you will be able to write and speak about our world problems describing causes, effects and possible solutions.
Task: Our University will be participating in The International Forum: Global Issues organized by The United Nations and other universities from all over the world. This Forum is a space to discuss global issues such as global warming, sexual discrimination, racism, child labor, among other topics, and learn more about our young people’s perception on those topics. Twenty students from our University will be selected to travel to France where the Forum will be taking place (all expenses paid). The only requirement to participate is to write an essay about the chosen social issue explaining the problem, its causes, its effects and possible solutions and to create an approximately five minute video with English subtitles in which participants (maximum three per group) present their analysis.
Video Instructions:
1. Use your essay ideas to plan your video.
The video should include:
• 1 minute introduction (context and participants introduction).
• 1 minute causes of the problem.
• 1 minute effects of the problem.
• 1 minute and a half possible solutions to this problem.
Important:
All students must appear in the video as you show the images.
You must not read. It is a spontaneous talk. You can do many takes (tomas) until you get the perfect ones.
You could add subtitles in English.
The narrative must be coherent and the transitions from one topic to the other must be imperceptible.
The sound quality must be excellent.
Assessment
20% Communication (Message is clear and coherent)
20% Pronunciation/Fluency (Speaking is fluent and without major pronunciation errors)
20% Vocabulary and grammar (Ideas are well presented with appropriate vocabulary and grammar)
20% Video (The video is well edited)
20% Participation in the Forum (You watched and comment at least two videos)

ResponderEliminarI liked the way they presented the different types of bullyng and the causes that it generated, I also liked that you will propose different types of solutions. My recomendatios is to watch many documentaries and movies about the topic.

It is interesting as he explained the greenhouse effect and the role that temperature plays for life on earth. My recommendation is to use the "Speaking" groups of the university or you can also search the web.

ResponderEliminarThe content of the presentation was very good and I could connect with this sad situation due the shocking images you showed, wich represent the real and cruel situation that many animals have to pass nowaday. As a recommendation, the next time try to speak slower. You can improve your english doing tests online, listen songs in english and traduce the letter to understand what it says.
Bullying.
The sequence of the presentation was good and the content of the video was coherent, complete and I liked that I could learn about more types of bullying that until now was unknown for me. As a recommendation, the next time select better your background because It was hard understand the video in the last part due that the environment was very noisy. You can improve your english reading short texts online and resolving questions about it, also you need to interact more with texts, movies or songs in english to familiarize with the language.

ResponderEliminarI liked that I used images to contextualize more people on the subject. I would recommend you read article, listen to music and watch movies with subtitles in English, I think the constant realization of these activities would help you a lot in your English level.
Plastic pollution
I liked the pronunciation, the subject is well understood. I would recommend doing activities such as talks with people who speak English to speak fluently.
